Different perspective about thanksgiving

From Eurocentric perspective, the pilgrims thought that they had the right to take possession of the land of the Native Americans that were living and taking care of their land for many years ago. On the other hand, few Native Americans that still conserve their culture and traditions, they know what's the truth of the Thanksgiving history, also in their point of view they don't celebrate thanksgiving for the coming of the Europeans to this country, but they give thanks for their ancestors. In my opinion I think that the school is the primary source that is responsible to tell the true story about thanksgiving. The reason why teachers must teach their students about their true American story is because in the future the kids all grown up can tell to their children about this story too, and then it will be ingrained in all the Americans .

Time Capsule

Hi, so the assignment for this weekend was about doing our own time capsule. This is the first time that I thought about doing one, so the things that I would probably put in my time capsule are: Some photographs of me with my family and friends. because in the future when all my parents are gone, I want to remember how happy I was with them and with my friends of that time. Also I would like to put pictures of places that I would really love to go in the future, because maybe the day that i open my time capsule I can say "OMG I've already gone to those places I was dreaming about". Other thing that I would like to put in the time capsule it would be a video tape where I recorded all my happy moments and experiences with my love ones; Moreover I would like to put my diary that I have since I was 13 years old, so in the future I can see how silly I was when I was younger… UFFFF… there're so many thing that I would really love to have in my time capsule but I don't think I can mention them all, so maybe next time I can share with you more about this topic. Thanks for listening!

Perspective of a mother

In a perspective of a mother looking for her son: As I looked at rows of cars in flames, my first thought was to find my son. He was a fire-fighter and even though he was off the day of the 9/11, he died at 10:28 a.m while helping evacuate people from the second building of the World Trade Center. My son named Michael Douglas was a very outgoing and sincere person. he liked to always help others and keep in touch every time he could with us, because we were living in other state at that year. Since 9/11 2001 me and my husband still have in our memories very vividly what happened that day and the pain is still there as like it occurred yesterday. I remember that on the morning of the attack, I joined millions of Americans who sat before their T.V. sets in disbelief... At that moment I felt such an anger towards the people who did the attack, but now I understand that I can't blame anybody on what happened, the only thing that I can do now is to do better, to help my country and the people to raise up! For me this tragedy not only draw the country closer together, but It showed the greatness of the American and people all over the world. It's a bittersweet time, but it's a strong reminder of the bravery of others and how fragile life really is. You appreciate life for what you have and don't take it for granted because it could be gone in a second.

Self Perspective about the 9/11

As a teenager in highschool in Lima, Peru, I remember being in US history class when all of a sudden one of my classmates runs into the room crying out loud "turn on the TV!" It was very shocking to me to see how the twin towers were destroyed immediately by that American Airlines plane. At first I wasn't sure what was happening, I didn't even know about the twin towers were. I was not aware of the severity of it. As we kept watching the news throughout the day and the following days, I was horrified at the effects of this terrorist attack. My heart really sank for those damaged, trapped who's life were taken away instantly, and for their families and loved ones. It truly opened my eyes to the fact that this world has cruel and dangerous people that are capable of causing so much damage and terror. It really scared me to even fly for some time. 9/11 did not only affect the US, but the whole world too.
