Different perspective about thanksgiving
From Eurocentric perspective, the pilgrims thought that they had the right to take possession of the land of the Native Americans that were living and taking care of their land for many years ago. On the other hand, few Native Americans that still conserve their culture and traditions, they know what's the truth of the Thanksgiving history, also in their point of view they don't celebrate thanksgiving for the coming of the Europeans to this country, but they give thanks for their ancestors.
In my opinion I think that the school is the primary source that is responsible to tell the true story about thanksgiving. The reason why teachers must teach their students about their true American story is because in the future the kids all grown up can tell to their children about this story too, and then it will be ingrained in all the Americans .

Time Capsule
Hi, so the assignment for this weekend was about doing our own time capsule. This is the first time that I thought about doing one, so the things that I would probably put in my time capsule are: Some photographs of me with my family and friends. because in the future when all my parents are gone, I want to remember how happy I was with them and with my friends of that time. Also I would like to put pictures of places that I would really love to go in the future, because maybe the day that i open my time capsule I can say "OMG I've already gone to those places I was dreaming about". Other thing that I would like to put in the time capsule it would be a video tape where I recorded all my happy moments and experiences with my love ones; Moreover I would like to put my diary that I have since I was 13 years old, so in the future I can see how silly I was when I was younger… UFFFF… there're so many thing that I would really love to have in my time capsule but I don't think I can mention them all, so maybe next time I can share with you more about this topic. Thanks for listening!

Perspective of a mother
In a perspective of a mother looking for her son:
As I looked at rows of cars in flames, my first thought was to find my son. He was a fire-fighter and even though he was off the day of the 9/11, he died at 10:28 a.m while helping evacuate people from the second building of the World Trade Center. My son named Michael Douglas was a very outgoing and sincere person. he liked to always help others and keep in touch every time he could with us, because we were living in other state at that year. Since 9/11 2001 me and my husband still have in our memories very vividly what happened that day and the pain is still there as like it occurred yesterday. I remember that on the morning of the attack, I joined millions of Americans who sat before their T.V. sets in disbelief... At that moment I felt such an anger towards the people who did the attack, but now I understand that I can't blame anybody on what happened, the only thing that I can do now is to do better, to help my country and the people to raise up! For me this tragedy not only draw the country closer together, but It showed the greatness of the American and people all over the world. It's a bittersweet time, but it's a strong reminder of the bravery of others and how fragile life really is. You appreciate life for what you have and don't take it for granted because it could be gone in a second.
Self Perspective about the 9/11
As a teenager in highschool in Lima, Peru, I remember being in US history class when all of a sudden one of my classmates runs into the room crying out loud "turn on the TV!" It was very shocking to me to see how the twin towers were destroyed immediately by that American Airlines plane. At first I wasn't sure what was happening, I didn't even know about the twin towers were. I was not aware of the severity of it. As we kept watching the news throughout the day and the following days, I was horrified at the effects of this terrorist attack. My heart really sank for those damaged, trapped who's life were taken away instantly, and for their families and loved ones. It truly opened my eyes to the fact that this world has cruel and dangerous people that are capable of causing so much damage and terror. It really scared me to even fly for some time. 9/11 did not only affect the US, but the whole world too.

New York City!
When I was a kid I remember watching a lot of american movies and shows, such as "Friends", that were filmed in New York City. In my mind, this place was like another planet, where your dreams and hopes can become true and maybe my thoughts were not so far aways from reality.
This year I had the amazing opportunity to go to THE BIG APPLE! I was so excited that I wanted to know how it feels to be in the same places were many famous stars shot their films, eat some "famous" street hot-dogs, see the Empire State Building and so on!
When I got to NYC, the first thing I did with my sister was to buy a ticket for the Hop on Hop off bus (this is a bus that takes you to all the important places from NYC that you wanna know and you can hop off the bus whenever you want, and then you can hop on another bus from the same company to keep with your tour). While I was doing the tour I realized the variety of people that were visiting and living in this famous city, but what most caught my attention was to see all those people from different countries working so hard, in order to pursue their "american dream", just as I thought when I was a child :)
To make this story short, some places where I've been were: Madame Tussauds, Radio City (to watch Cirque Du Solei), Broadway (The Adam's Family), Time Square, Hershey's and M&M's store, Fifth ave. to buy some cloth, Empire State Building, Central Park and so many other places that I don't even remember :P
This whole experience of being in this incredible city called Manhattan, made me love even more the United States! LOL just joking. The main point that I wanted to emphasise was that New York City is not only just a place to visit but it is also a place to admire because is a city where you can consider it as a "mini world"where people can make their dreams come true, without worrying about where they came from.
